Faced with ageing Netezza technology, IBM's solution for a world embracing big data, driving new levels of data science and machine learning is its relaunched Netezza Performance Server for IBM Cloud Pak for Data. NPS harnesses all the strengths of its legacy product whilst making the platform even more robust and flexible. Built on IBM Red Hat® OpenShift® it is a bundled architecture of software that includes the Netezza core software and broad new analytics and data processing capabilities within the IBM Cloud Pak for Data (ICP4D). This provides the flexibility to deploy NPS anywhere; on-premises and/or public, private clouds with the extensibility needed from a modernized platform.
IBM Cloud Pak for Data (ICP4D)
The ICP4D solution includes data collection, virtualization, refinement, governance, data warehousing, and an advanced analytics platform. ICP4D is designed so that workloads do not affect the NPS processing / performance and vice versa. The ICP4D uses a containerized / hybrid cloud architecture where expanded processing needs can be delivered within the hyperconverged system, on another set of on-premise infrastructure or on the cloud.
Netezza Performance Server on the Cloud will be available on IBM Cloud and Amazon Web Services starting June 19, 2020.
